And they say miracles don’t happen. All-women Avengers team? Man, it’s like all dreams come true, and more! Excited? Hellz, yeah! WE LOVE YOU, MARVEL!
I was crazy sad to learn that Charles Soule’s She-Hulk would be ending in January 2015. It’s been a great ride and I can’t wait to finish reading the last few issues (when I get through my Guardians of the Galaxy backlog of cheering for Gamora and Angela). Marvel is killing it, KILLING IT, when it comes to awesome lady characters. Have you read the latest Ms. Marvel or Captain Marvel? OMG Fuck, it’s all so good. Captain Marvel makes Star Wars jokes and I want to marry her in a hundred timelines, over and over. So, am I excited about an all-female Avengers team? I’ve already fainted and farted with overwhelming joy. It’s really great news because A-Force will be co-written by G. Willow Wilson, the fantastic writer behind Ms. Marvel‘s reboot as a Muslim girl, and Marguerite Bennett, who wrote Marvel’s Angela standalone (dudes, learn who Angela is, she will steal your heart and maybe smash it, but it’ll totes be worth it). I love She-Hulk! I love Dazzler! I love…ooo, I’m gonna faint again. Or fart. Put the “v” back in Avengers!
Damn! An all-female Avengers team? Yes, please. From the poster, I’m guessing that She-Hulk will more or less be in charge, which… Yes, please. Medusa is a part of the project. Am I the only Medusa-lover around here? Oh well. More red hair for me. I don’t think I know every member of the team (and I guess I’m going to pretend that I didn’t see Jubilee at the back), but I’m psyched. There’s a lady made of space in there. A lady. Made of space. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to be alone in a room with an ass-tonne of comics for a while.
If there is anything that I always wanted to happen more than anything else in the whole wide world, it’s probably something that goes along the lines with all-female Avengers that’ll kick some serious ass. So, rejoice, world! We have it coming – finally! I’m surprised it took Marvel THIS long to finally make it happen, but better late than never, right? Not that I didn’t enjoy the all-female X-Men, but still! There’s Rescue – there better be Rescue! – and this fact alone makes me giddy with anticipation, especially after MCU oh so gracefully pulled the plug on this one ~le sigh And don’t even get me started on the amazing team involved in the project! Daaaaamn! It can’t happen soon enough!
